Pipeline reviews without performative precision

Hero art supporting Pipeline reviews without performative precision
Precision theater—where every deal receives false confidence scores—wastes forecast calls and erodes trust between marketing and sales. We borrowed facilitation techniques from our Pipeline Stage Definitions Clinic to keep conversations tied to buyer evidence without shaming individual sellers. First, we replaced single-number forecasts with paired statements: the numeric estimate plus the buyer evidence sentence read aloud. Hearing the sentences back-to-back exposed duplicate language copied across deals. Second, marketing attended only the final twenty minutes with a narrow mandate to comment on air cover gaps, not to challenge rep judgment. That boundary reduced defensive reactions while still addressing blind spots. Third, we archived recordings only when every participant opted in, defaulting to typed summaries otherwise. The policy sounds bureaucratic, but it increased candid commentary from Korean teams wary of internal politics. The approach now informs how we coach RevOps Handoff Design cohorts to document exceptions.
